Medical Oncology Fellow - Brisbane

A magnificent opportunity has been created for someone who has completed their RACP training in Medical Oncology and is ready to develop advanced skills in research activities and clinical trials at Queensland’s leading oncology Phase 1 trial centre under the direct supervision of Icon’s Clinical Lead in Medical Oncology. This is a rare chance to develop your research and academic career, including assistance with manuscript writing, whilst progressing your clinical skill development in your specialty.

The role has equally significant expectations of your clinical competency and compassionate approach.  You’ll be supported to deliver best practice assessment, evaluation, and advice according to professional standards.  In doing so, we’re seeking a caring professional who can act as an advocate to assist patients to make informed decisions, showing a level of empathy, respect and inclusion that aligns closely with Icon’s values.

The position is predominantly located in South Brisbane but will allow you the opportunity to work in other sites in Brisbane.  It is available for an immediate start and offered initially for the remainder of the 2021 medical year, with the possibility of extension.  Core shifts are Monday to Friday with the reasonable expectation of some weekend coverage throughout the year.  The details of this arrangement can be expanded upon at interview.

We’ll be looking for your completion of RACP training with a current or pending FRACP qualification, and eligibility for AHPRA registration as a specialist medical oncologist and consultant physician.

You already know the value of investing in your career and gaining advanced skills as a fellow under the guidance of senior consultants. Icon can offer this opportunity and an enviable network as a large and successful private practice provider of specialist medical and radiation oncology treatment with Australia’s largest private cancer clinical trials program.  From brave and confident leadership decisions and direction in 2020, Icon continues to expand cancer care and clinical trials throughout Australia, with a growing reach internationally.

Make a positive step in 2021 and work with us as we work with you to develop your career.  In addition to Icon’s strength and scope, we also offer a remuneration and professional development structure that will help you to decide where to make your next career step.
