A commitment to increasing access to cancer care has driven Icon Group beyond Australian shores to embrace opportunities in the ASEAN region. With the incorporation of Singapore Oncology Consultants [SOC] providing an esteemed foundation on which to build a solid regional presence, we continue to explore new opportunities across South-East Asia and into China furthering the Group’s vision to make an impact on the global cancer burden. Our current portfolio includes:

Day oncology hospitals Singapore

The Group’s day oncology services in Singapore is delivered by Icon SOC [Singapore Oncology Consultants] – one of the largest and most respected medical oncology practices in Singapore.

Guided by a long standing team of expert doctors, Icon SOC treats thousands of patients every year. This is delivered across six day hospitals, with outreach clinics into Vietnam and Myanmar. In addition to treating Singaporeans, Icon SOC cares for patients from surrounding countries who travel for the exceptional standard of clinical expertise they offer. As a result, they have become a regional hub acknowledged for excellence in clinical and patient care.

Icon SOC’s successful model of care allows patients flexible and portable methods of treatment. This ensures the organisation is well positioned to face emerging trends in cancer care and local Asian industry influences.

Vietnam and China Developments

In January 2017 Icon signed a Commissioning and Operational Management Service Agreement for cancer centres to be built with Chengde Chong Yuan Investment Group Co. Ltd. This agreement will see Icon Group managing design, construction and commissioning of Chengde Chong Yuan Investment Group’s cancer centres. Icon will also deliver clinical operational management as part of the partnership, this will include training, education, technical expertise and quality assurance to ensure the residents of Chengde and surrounding areas receive world-class cancer care. Over the next two years the cancer burden in China will increase by 70% and this partnership will bring Australian expertise and cutting-edge techniques to the people of China to help address this burden. We are excited about the potential China based projects in discussion and look forward to rolling out further services in the coming months.

In early 2018 Icon Group also signed a milestone agreement at the ASEAN-Australia Summit to deliver cancer care infrastructure and technology in Vietnam. Vietnam faces a growing burden of cancer with an expected 70% increase in diagnoses over the next two decades and without the number of oncology treatment facilities and workforce capacity, this demand for cancer treatment will not be met.

This agreement will see Icon collaborate with two of Vietnam’s leading healthcare providers – The National Cancer Hospital in Hanoi [the K Hospital] and the Military 175 Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. Icon skills and capabilities will develop large scale cancer care infrastructure, implement an international standard in medical excellence across hospital management, and leverage innovative technologies to deliver remote care where it is needed. Experts from Icon Group’s Australian and Singaporean businesses will be critical in supporting Vietnamese health providers to meet demand while building local capacity for the future. Icon will begin to implement services in Vietnam as early as mid 2018.
